In the 1970's when the first personal computer came onto the market, this enabled Video Poker to commence their rise to popularity. The small computer chip that were the brains of personal computers, were now able to be harnessed and used to power Video Poker machines. Jack or Better
Probably the most famous of all Online Video Poker styles is Jacks or Better. This was the first game introduced to Video Poker machines. Based on the standard game of poker, it paid out on the following hands:

A pair of Jacks or better would make a winning hand.
2 pair
Two of the same face value cards x two. EG 1 pair of 3's and 1 pair of 7's.
3 of a Kind
Three of the same face value cards. EG Three 9's.
Straight
Any five cards in order of face value. EG 2-3-4-5-6 (any suit).
Flush
Any five cards of the same suit. EG All hearts.
Full House
1 pair and 3 of a Kind. EG A pair of 5's and three Jacks.
4 of a Kind
Four cards of the same face value. EG Four 10's.
Straight Flush
Five cards of the same face value and of the same suit. EG 2-3-4-5-6 of hearts.
Royal Flush
Five Cards of picture value and the same suit. EG 10-J-Q-K-A of hearts.
