Roulette History The term Roulette comes from the French word small
wheel. There are many versions to who invented the Roulette Wheel, the
mostly likely is Blaise Pascal a famous French mathematician his forte`was the study
of probabilities.
The first Roulette Wheel was used in a France in 1796. It used alternative numbered
colors including odds and even bets. Somewhere around the period of the 1800's the
game of casino Roulette was being accepted and played throughout the world. In fact,
in the USA casinos wanted a way to increase the house edge. This is how Amercan
Roulette was introduced.
American Roulette Wheel
The American Roulette Wheel consists of 38 numbers including 0, 00 and 1 to 36.
Having two zeros (0, 00) this gives the house (casino) a 5.26% advantage. In Layman's
terms every $100 wagered, the house (casino) will make a $5.26 return.
European Roulette Wheel The European Roulette Wheel consists of 37
numbers including 0 and 1 to 36. Having one zero (0) gives the house (casino) a
2.70% advantage. In Layman's terms, every $100 wagered the house (casino) will make
a $2.70 return.
Roulette Rules Column Bet
The Roulette Wheel table is divided into three columns. Betting that the number
will fall in one of three columns.
Column Bet pay- out is 2:1
Corner Bet
Betting on four numbers at the same time. Corner Bet pay- out is 8:1
Dozen Bet
Betting on either 1 to 12, 13 to 24 or 25 to 36. Dozen Bet pay-out is 2:1
Even-Odd Bet
A wager on either an even or an odd number. Even-Odd Bet pay-out is 1:1
Five Number Bet
A wager covering 0, 00, 1, 2, and 3. Five Number Bet pay-out is 6:1
High-Low Bet
A wager covering the numbers 1 to 18 or 19 to 36. High-Low Bet pay-out is 1:1
Inside Bet
A wager on any number or set of numbers on the Roulette table. Inside Bets are 5-number
bets, 6-number bets Corner bets, Split bets, Straight bets and Trio bets.
Outside Bet
A wager placed on Red, Black, Odd, Even, High 19 to 36 or Low numbers 1 to 1. Outside
Bets are Columns bets, Dozens bets, Even or Odd bets, High or Low bets and Red or
Black bets.
Red-Black Bet
Wager on either the red or black colors. Red-Black Bet pay-out is 1:1
Six-Number Bet
Wagering on six numbers at the same time. Six-Number Bet pay-out is 5:1
Split Bet
A wager on two numbers at the same time. Split Bet pay-out is 17:1
Straight Bet
A bet placed on a single number. A player may make as many straight bets as desired.,
as long as it does not exceed the table limit. Straight Bet pay-out is 35:1
Trio Bet
Wagering on a combination of three numbers at the same time. Trio Bet pay-out is
